How fast do you think it'll take my cpu to die?

Ok, I have an amd 64 3200+ venice core. So, I decided... LET'S OVERCLOCK!!!! XP-90 with a 92mm nexus that moves 27 cfm... Silence...

I shot it at 2.71 Ghz (285X9.5) with my k8n neo2. 1.61v Hehehehe...

48 C idle
56 C load

how fast do you think it'll take until it dies? Like I'm going to back down lol.

no clue on ambient lol.
Mobo is at 21 C apparently...

Least I didn't bother 5v my nexus fan.

It passed OCCT... :D
Prime95 it lasted 30 minutes, and then I stopped it cause it takes too long anyways.

my winnie is running at 1.63v and 2.6 ghz for over 9 months.....these are good cpu's...it will last longer than you will need it...you will prolly have a new cpu by then :)

You have to konw....its kinda hard to kill CPUs nowdays....

I have even ran a P4 2.8 without a HSF untill it hanged......after it hanged..reset CMOS and then no more problems...

your best bet to kill CPU is to use DIC (Dry Ice Cooling). Once after the cooling condenation builds up causing the air around the hardware to form dropllets of H2O cause the death of your Hardware!!

The other way that DIC can kill CPU's is that it allows for such insane voltages (and overclocks) that, despite the crazy negative double digit celcius temperatures, the CPU can still die.

But dry ice is an excellent way to increase the size of one's e-penis ;).

Are you kidding? That's fine. I thought you were gonna put like 70 load. Hehe. Nice OC.

wow, stock HSF?

I've been afraid to exceed 50C with my 3200+ Winnie
currently running@ 2.44, exactly 50C load

using meticulously lapped stock HSF and AS5
shall I give er some more juice then? :)

I know the chip will run 2.62+ but needs voltage closer to what you are using so I have been afraid to give it hell

but I'm going after a new Venice anyhoo in a couple weeks, so...

using a Zalman 7700CU for cooling...quiet and very nice...

33C idle, 39C load...

Zalman is really great stuff

put a VF700-Cu on my 6600GT and got an extra 25mhz on the core while dropping temps from 42/73 to 36/51

really need a good coooler like yours or an XP90

You only have an 8c difference between idle and load? Something doesnt seem right there.

Hey I have an idea!!!. Run it without a HSF until it hangs like that other guy! ;) The. disable the auto shutdown feature and force it to your whim! (Tell it, "Shut up and take it bvitch!!!)

I run 69 load on a cheap chip, I wouldn't be too worried about it dying anytime soon..

Wow...will the CPU really last 10 years on 1.6 volts?

And here I was afraid of raising my X2's volts up to 1.5 :p

The cpu may last that long but ive read that the overclock will degrade over time.
Is this true?

Not that it will degrade cpu...just reduce it's life expectancy by half. Usually processors would last up to 10 years a o kay. But w/ ocing, if kept stable for a long time. Up to 4-5 years without a hitch, by that time, an upgrade is needed otherwise
