5-7 mph. Never over 7. I have a cdl license and can't afford tickets when driving is my livelihood and tickets can affect that.
Ditto.
My current commute has some 45 and 40 MPH roads and I will touch on 10 over, but so is all the other traffic. 3 lanes so there is always some brilliant asshat weaving around to grab attention of any LEO in the area

That's a mine sweeper. Let him go and stay about .5 mile behind him.

Keep him in site though

Then you have your blockers. Semis doing 10+. Stay behind them. They know what's ahead.

Spidey on your rear. Radar clean. Come on back?

Roger Spidey. Go ahead and sniff them out. Over?

Got you. Let's roll. Out.

9 over the speed limit in all areas unless there is excessive traffic, for obvious reasons.

There's no why you're going with the flow of traffic is your only ever going 5 above the speed limit.

Does SKORPI0 live in LA? Cuz California traffic (when not congested, obviously) in my experience is much faster than that of other states.

Chicago area (I-55, 290, 294, 90/94, 88, 355). I've driven in LA and SF Bay Area. Drivers there during rush hour, always drive 15 mph above the speed limit (80 over 65). Not sure what others are trying to prove by driving too fast. 5mphs over is good enough for me. Hate the crawling traffic here which I avoid whenever I can. ^_^

Depends on what I am and the flow of traffic. I'm never the fastest, but if that means I'm going 10 over to keep up, then whatever.

A little slower than the fastest drivers. Usually 65-68 or so is about right. That's the general "travel" speed around here, the people going slower are getting passed and the people driving faster are attracting the attention.

The two keys to avoiding tickets, don't be the fastest driver on a given stretch of road and don't do anything that makes you easy to notice. Tailgating, weaving, passing on the right, etc, makes you the target and you'll get picked out even if other people are driving a little faster.

exactly this, word for word.

I usually do 70-80 which is just slightly faster than flow of traffic.

When I got my new car, I caught myself going 100 a few times since it felt like going 70 in my old car.

If I'm in my Maxima, then I'd probably be doing 55-60 MPH. But if I was in my GT-R, I'd probably be doing 55-60 MPH.

Depends on the road. Generally 60-64, but I'm never the fastest person on the road. I prefer someone else draw negative attention.

Yep. Let some other idiot find the radar cars and keep them busy...

In a 55 MPH speed zone, I'm probably somewhere between 60-65.

speed limit 65

75-80 driving in the top 2 lanes

San Diego County, CA

cops will probably ignore if you're going 75 especially if overall traffic speed in the top lanes is ~75

I think they might possibly pull you over starting at 80+

one time I got pulled over for speeding, cop clocked me at 83

all depends on the highway.

here in LA, 75 is pretty standard.

back home in middle-of-nowhere-MD, 55-60. at least the last time i was home anyway. it was nice not having a bazillion cars causing a traffic jam for no reason. very relaxing.

120-130 km/h is the speed limit in most of europe and I don't go over it usually.
50 mph is the usual non-urban county road/alpine pass speed limit, and going over it isn't a good idea as there are radars everywhere and sometimes there's deer on the road.

Around 70MPH in a 65MPH zone, closer to 60 in a 55MPH area. In towns, close to the posted speed signs. And you have to watch for certain states with "super speeder laws" .. if they catch you like 20MPH over posted speed or in some cases over 80MPH, you not only get a fine, but extra points, a surcharge and maybe license suspension.

Usually on a 55 MPH highway I am driving in the 70-75 MPH range. Around here, that's a bit faster than average traffic.

Maryland usually 10-20 over depending on the road/traffic. Slightly less than 10 where there's speed cameras or way below the speed limit if it's that time of day : (

A good radar detector will pick it up from other cars. I've had it happen tons. My radar detector will pick that instant on shit from a mile away as they shoot other cars.

Pro-tip: Don't speed without others around you and let a minesweeper go ahead of you.

Yea, that's a tactic I use if I'm in a hurry, wait for a car going 85+ to go past me then pace behind him about 1/3 mile, let him be my "scout" vehicle LOL..

Here in NJ up to 14MPH over is a 2 point offense. It goes up to 4 points for 15-20MPH over, so it is best to stay under 14MPH over .. Most states have a similar system, so check your dmv web site to see how your point system works. Also check if Super Speeder or Reckless Driving can be applied depending on vehicle speed and how far over the limit they say you are.

I fat fingered the poll and hit 71 to 80. In a 55 zone, I would not exceed 64mph. Most of the highways here have limits of 65 or 70. I generally won't go 10 over.

0-6MPH above posted limit. Anything else is generally unsafe, despite what many of you fucks think.

Living in Chicago after growing up in Portland was a nightmare driving. Everyone going 20-35+ over.

As a rough translation to km/h:

89 - 97
98 - 113
114 - 129
130 - 145
146 - 161
162+
Below 87

I would be 162+; I usually gun it (most times unneccesary). I dont like it at all as driving that fast is gonna problably be a downfall for me :( Can't help it though.

I dont recommend AT ALL driving at that speed.
