How fast can you type?

I'm sure its been posted before, but not recently apparently. Anyways, so what is it?


I ran Typing Tutor yesterday.

I peaked at 95WPM. :) Overall, after two tests, was 88 WPM at 95% accuracy. And i was slouching at the keyboard. I"m sure if i practiced I could easily hit 100WPM with 95% accuracy. :)

Damn, I always thought i typed 65WPM. No wonder people think the keyboards gonna explode when they hear me clicking away. :)

I can type extremely fast.

Then I have to go back and fix all the typos. :)

The above line was typed at a few thousand characters per minute. :p As far as typing legibly, that speed depends heavily upon how much caffeine I have ingested.

Hehe.

Yeah, I got it for my father who is terrified of computers. He's trying to learn though, and I think typing is a great foundation. He ususally has his secretary type stuff, but i feel its very important for computer usage.

A bunch of old 61 year old Indian guys on AIM. Now thats a sight.

I actually try to keep him away from many, many things on the net that I know he'd freak if he saw. He's a strict type. He'd probably shove my computer off the desk if he saw something *provocative.*

My mom, who has picked up much faster, has already been the victim of countless spam and porn.

Damnit.

I thought I was fast until I played "typing of the dead" (It's basically "house of the dead" except you type instead of shoot the gun). I could barely get past the first level because they make you type strange words you're not used to typing like "xylophone" or some other funky things like that. My friends could actually finish the game on the hardest setting.

2 handed 70-90wpm. Depending on content.
1 handed, not fast enough. :p (J/K!!!)
