68 wpm. It's been around that level for years and I doubt I'm getting any faster. I tend to make too many mistakes if I push faster.

47 :( I used to be so much faster. When I was in elementary school school it was ~80.

62. I also used to be much faster. Granted I'm trying right now on my crappy laptop keyboard sitting on my knees with the laptop on the kitchen counter. I'll have to try on my desktop later. Probably can exceed 70.

51. I know I would be a lot faster without all of the punctuation though. The -- in the sentences screwed me up.

Edit: took the wizard of oz one and got a 60.

Me too, because in Word you don't put the space in there and it automatically punctuates for you.

I got 84 on Astronaut and 92 on Tiger. Tiger is much, much easier, my score would've been higher but I made a couple errors.

edit: got 104 on the second try for Tiger. woohoo

72 wpm with 4 errors= 68 wpm (first attempt)

I'm typically faster, but I broke two fingers on my left hand recently, and I'm still working on getting my range of motion back :).

(excuses, excuses)

59 WPM - 1 error = 58 WPM

Back when I worked at a relay service for the deaf I was typing near 100 WPM.

Could have done better, way too many errors, spent half my time backspacing. Oh, and three errors were bs capitalization errors that Word would have autocorrected.

I knew I'd be at the higher end, but I'm kind of surprised the average at a tech forum isn't higher, tbh.

90 WPM. I gotta say, though, typing fast is pretty useless for me. I very rarely (if ever) type large blocks of pre-known text. My brain (i.e., coming up with what to write) is a much more substantial bottleneck than my fingers.

I'm the other way around. I can type a lot faster if I'm just typing whatever I'm thinking vs. looking at something that is pre-typed out and having to copy it.

95. Surprised more people here aren't MUCH faster. I thought I was average.

95 is very fast based on what I hear from people working in an office environment. Anything over that is exceptional imo.
