I know it will very depending on pci cards and motherboard, but I was wondering what it usualy tends to be. I have DDR333 and a very well cooled 1700+ so the first logical bottle neck would be the pci slots.

Well, people have varying results depending in there equipment. Generally speaking, 37.5MHz for the pci bus is not a problem. Up to 40MHz can usually work, although at this speed you might have to hand pick some of your pci devices because some will not be able to run stable. 42MHz and higher usually starts causing problems, although quite a few people with proven components can run this high or even higher.
