How fast are the G3 Imacs at SETI?

Hi People,

A new school where I have a contract to work has a lab of about 20 G3 Imacs, and I was wondering what sort of performance they dish out for SETI.

Also, this school has about 10PCs (without 10 more coming - P4 1.7GHz) that will be arriving over the next month or two. Also, I have another 4 P4 1.7GHz and a dual AMD 1900+ server for the school all arriving within the next week or two.

So, assuming these iMacs get about 2 WUs/day (or MORE!!) then I should be adding an additional 40+20+15+40=115 WUs/day!!

well i had it on a G3 Imac 350 mhz , ave WU was around 19 hours.

what speed G3 are they ??

If you are using the OS X Cli you will get a WU done about every 16 hours with a 450. There is an OS X client for folding and I am trying to find out if the Mac is better at folding than Seti, but so far I have not had any success.

I don't know about any other DC projects, but the G3/G4 rock at RC5, they're much faster than any Athlon!

Maybe the RC5 team would like a little help, or find someone to do a processor swap!
