How Fast an Athlon XP will the MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition Support?

I got a K7T Turbo LE, and I hope to get an Athlon XP 2000+ in here.... MSI's website says that it can only support up to an 1800+, whereas older motherboards can support up to a 2000+... anyone know if this is true?

I have the reg. k7t turbo 900mhz athlon (100Mhz) 384 megs of ram and Radeon LE and I flashed to the latest bios and now am I capable of upgrading to XP 2100.

One thing I have been wondering about.... Xp on a sdram mobo, How does it perform compared to a ddr mobo?! Should I upgrade my mobo & cpu or just cpu?! I game mostly and can play everything (640x480 MOHAA) so I am thinking about waiting untill Geforce5 and one of the hammers comes out.

ummm well best thing I can suggest is to try it out. I know the K7t turbo was limited to 1800+ and the turbo 2 can handle the 2100+. So MSI says.

I'm currently running a K7T Turbo LE myself, it's got a Tbird 1.2@1.4 on it. I was also curious, I'll br throwing some some of athlon xp in there, and according to the site... they said 600mhz to 1.4 ghz.... 1800+ is 1.6ghz, and a 1600+ is 1.4ghz, so there seems to be some discrepancy. I'm thinking of emailing them to ask....

at the least you can run is a XP1800+. It performs well enough to hold you out until hammer time 🙂

Yes what did you do?? I also want to put an xp chip on this motherboard and am wondering if it'll actually work. I know msi's website says one thing, but I would like to know if anyone has successfully installed an xp chip with this board.
