how far will a 350 watt psu go?

a sparkle psu i mean.

Is 350 watts good enough for a few years or longer for the average computer? (ie, 2 optical drives, no more than 2 hard drives, 1 or 2 case fans).

I'm asking because I have it but I'm considering modding it to get a quieter fan inside (if I even can). However, if future PC's need more than 350 watts (I don't think so, but I'm not sure), I probably won't bother modding. What do you think?

Nice little guide Jack.
I have an Enermax 365 (350W) +3.3/+5 =185W +3 and +5/32Amps +12/26Amps
I have a P4/mainboard, 2-256 RDRAM, GF4, 2-7200rpm HD, SCSI card, LAN card, Soundcard, 2 SCSI CDR-RW, IDE DVD-R, 1-120mm fan, 2-80mm fans
all running fine with no power problems.

Quite nice JackMDS and the Sparkle will go far compared to the Generics...next look @ the Amp drainage as that's what modding with light's and fans want.
