How far to go with job process for a job I'm not interested in?

So I've been at my current company about 6 years, and haven't had an interview in about as long. I went to one on Friday that went well. However, after the interview, I realized that I didn't want the job. Nonetheless, I would like to get offered the position, so I have a good idea of what I'm qualified for and what might be a bit out of my league, as well as get feedback for how well I did on the interview.

I just got a voicemail from the recruiter asking me for references. I'm debating whether to proceed with giving them to him, or just telling him I'm not interested. Just wondering what you guys suggest I do.

Part of my concern is that, I believe, normally, people might list their current supervisor as a reference. If I really wanted the job, I prob. would've considered doing that, but I don't want to if I'm not even going to accept the position.

Withdrawing would be the most professional thing to do. Why waste their time?

I don't think I did. I want to be offered the job, so, in a sense, I know that I was the best person for X job. Thus, if I see a job Y that's similar, it'd boost my confidence when applying for it.

Some jobs I've applied for I didn't even get a call back, so I figure perhaps it might be a bit out of my league (tho' I'll still continue to apply).

Hmm. Well, if it depends on how much you want to know how well you did on that interview. Does it mean that much to let your current supervisor that you are fishing around?

Well if I did supply references, I definitely wouldn't use anyone at my current job. I'd need to find a good second reference though.
