How far do you think you can get a P4 2.6C 800Mhz to overclock?

I am eyeballin it at newegg. And seeing as some of these new Intel motherboards can get up to like 248 FSB, that should hit like 2.85 right? Or is it more logical to get a 2.4B 533 and try to run it at 800Mhz FSB and get it up to 3.0Ghz, I haven't messed with Intel stuff for a while, and I'm looking at that Albatron 865 board....

Yeah, with stock cooling one site got it to 3.3 or maybe 3.2Ghz, again everything STOCK. So I'm guessing that with some nicer cooling HSF combo than Intel's you could hit 3.5 or 3.6

And no, the 2.4B won't overclock to an 800mhz FSB.

Mine wiil run at 3.58GHz during post and partial WinXP install.

Can't say if it runs stable at that speed as my new WinXP CD is flawed and stops the install (you can visually see the flaw, not an O/C issue). I'll have to wait another week or two before I can really test the new system and tell you what my 2.6C on IC7-G can do.

You should never install an OS on an overclock...unless this is reinstalling windows on your board after a year because you like to clean things up.
