Since i dont really want to buy another cpu, i am gonna clock the pi55 out of this one. Im putting it in a chaintech vnf4 zenith board. Im plannin on jackin this thing up. How far do you think i can get it without toastin it? I want to do it without upping the voltage.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I got my 2800+ Newcastle to clock in at 2.43 and run Prime95 stabily. I also did a suicide run to 2.61 but it was a no-go because it crashed in Windows.

I had a socket 754 2800+ Newcastle (1.8GHz) that would run stable with minimal voltage at around 2.5GHz, and would suicide-POST at 2.7GHz with big voltage.

mine is a newcastle 3000+. Got it to 2.612 Ghz. with my set up below, it idles at 30C and loads at 45-50C. I can turn off the fan and get 58-60C at load.

My newcastle 3500+ had problems, it would idle at 32 degree when not overclocked, when overclocked to 2.4 GHz (from 2.2), it boosted up to 61 degree at load, Im not quite sure what was wrong, hope yours is better.
