hi everybody....

first of all here is my setup :
1. AMD Thunderbird 900 mhz
2. Ellite K7VMA
3. 256 MB Visipro RAM
4. on board VGA (16 MB shared)

i am just wondering how much boost can i gain using the current config and std cooling system. i dont want to break any record or anything, just to start as my first project. another 100 mhz would be nice.

i did some prelimenary research and so far i concluded that my motherboard nor my memory module is not an OCers' components of choice. anyone has any experience or tips at this ?

thanks

Overclocking is pretty much trial and error... there are some known chips and combinations that do well, but nothing is guaranteed.

Are we talking Slot A Thunderbird here? Because they were not known for their overclocking abilities. Also, Im guessing you do not have any multiplier, voltage or FSB freq adj with your Motherboard.

eh, i believe w/ that mobo your sol for overclocking. couple friends of mine have/had that board.. its a decent cheap board, but thats about it imo..

i also had a 900 tbird slotty.. it didn't like to oc for chit. got close to 950 (fsb bump), but not 100% stable, so gave up on ocing it.
