how far away

Depends. We have a 500 sq ft kill house on our land, so not very far when shooting there. I usually shoot 40-75ft when at the range.

hmm...25 yards.

i don't even know if i could see the target (at least the ones i've been using) at 25 yards. I have enough trouble at 10 yards. Its a 50' pistol target but its pretty damn small.

normally i stand about 10 yards or 30-35 feet away.

I would probably blame your grip if you are having trouble hitting the target at the 25 yard range. You might be milking the grip and/or pulling it down when you fire. Try moving ONLY your finger when you fire. Also, do not worry about the target so much as your front sight. Your goal is to ultimately hit the target, but scoring your target while you fire (ie, looking at each hole you make as you make it) isn't the best idea. You want to see where your grouping is and adjust from there. I would suggest getting a larger target and seeing how you are shooting, adjust from there, and then switch to the smaller ones.

I think he meant he can't see it.

i already do wear glasses, my eyesight is just not very great. i'm thinking about getting some paper silhouette targets.

That probably is your best bet. Get paper targets that are fairly large and WHITE in the middle so you can adjust your fire after finishing off a mag, but before bringing the target in. Like I said, watch your grip too and make sure your trigger finger is the only thing moving when you pull.

Indoors at 50 feet (only thing available to me... living inside Boston) on a 'equivalent' NRA 50yd target, i.e. shrunk down to appear as it would at 50yds.
