The new E8XXX series CPU's (codename: Wolfdale) are Intels new die shrink refresh of the C2Duos. C2D's like e6750, e6850 are on intels 65nm process, the new Wolfdale chips are on the 45nm process. The new chips will be more energy efficient, run cooler, and clock higher, and they perform 8-10% better clock for clock. Most skt 775 boards will support them with a bios update, and the newer chipset boards should support them out of the box

The E8400 will be my 1st Intel CPU, as I've always used AMD chips...
I have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI board that will be here tomorrow...Considering I don't have a current Intel CPU to use on the board to update the BIOS, will I run into problems with the 8400 on this board?...
Recommendations so I don't get caught in a jam?...
Sure enough: E8400 = $209, not bad. :thumbsup:Originally posted by: Timecop1967
My order for the E8400 went through on Jan 1st and the company antaresdigital wrote back today stating that its ETA is Jan. 11th of this month.....much sooner than I expected!
