How expensive are Lexus repairs?

I been looking at a GS300 with about 40k miles and im not sure if its still under warranty if baught used...since i usually keep all the cars for a long time, how expensive are these to repair out of warranty?

Not sure bout repairs..but if u actually follow the service schedule...they're pretty expensive. I believe the Lexus warranty is 4 yrs 50,000 miles and 6 yrs, 70,000 miles on the powertrain. I just bought my GS300 last month. You'll love it. Plus its a Lex...they're pretty reliable.

VERY HIGH.

But if you can afford a new one then you should have enough to keep up with maintaince and pay for repairs.

And if you cant afford to fix it, dont get it buy a domestic. They have been every reliable to me

I know of 6 Lexus' at 200,000 miles ... none of them needed any repairs except for the standards at the right intervals. This is our 3rd Lexus (one of them is a 2001 GS300) and we haven't had a repair yet. Lease is up in December and ... another Lexus will be on the way.

Nearly free for me because my friend is a Lexus mechanic.

Depending on the year it may still be under warranty.

I had a '99 GS300. It was a good car. I had no issues with it in the 3 1/2 years I owned it.

If you want to get a better sense of how much it costs, maybe you can call the dealership and ask them how much per hour labor costs since most likely that'll be the bulk of the bill.

repairs expensive

get the car checked out by a lexus dealer before you buy it

your getting a car that will last ten years easily

i have a gs300

great car

not the sportiest ride in the world (think luxury ocean liner versus america's cup sailboat)

but darn smooth and safe and reliable and luxurious..

My dad used to have a 1993 GS300. Ran great spare the squeaky breaks which we later found was due to a non-Lexus dealership who put the breakpads on poorly. I imagine the repairs are quite expensive but the cars are very reliable. I'm a big Toyota/Lexus fan and a Toyota engine not under warranty is still unlikely to break in anyway especially with only 40K miles.

My dad was very very close to buying a '98 GS300, but the dealer we were buying from wouldn't write on the bill that itw as 100% Accident free. And also we were really stretching our budget for that car. Personally, I think one should buy a used Lexus from the Lexus dealer, but they charge $$ for those.

I just replaced a waterpump on an SC300 today. Had to replace the complete pump, housing and all. Close to $300 just for that part and only available from Lexus. Seems that they (Toyota) found a reason to redesign it for the 3.0L. That's not counting the labor to replace it and the extra o-rings that you have to get for the other parts that connect to it and a new thermostat and gasket.

Geez all these expensive repairs make me wanna buy a Toyota Camry instead of a Lexus ES300, I know they're basically the same vehicle.

Guess I'll get a loaded XLE V6 still going to cost around $25k but of course this is a few years away.
