How exactly does one use citronella with a garden bamboo torch?

I assume one would fill the canister completely with citronella torch oil and light the wick. How far should the wick protrude? Should the wick be wet, or dry?

These stupid things don't come with instructions.

you have got go be kidding.

fill to top, wick sticks out about .5-.75 inch, light it.

fluffy part of wick goes in oil.

enjoy!

-edit- you light the part of the wick that is NOT being placed in the oil. Just to clarify that you didn't lit one end of the wick and stick it in the oil, lit.

Hmm.. I'd imagine that if the citronella oil didn't come with instructions, then you're just supposed to use it straight 100%.....

I bet you could mix it 50/50 or something to extend it a little..

You can wet the wick a little if you want, but it will do that for you really... It's a wick.. lol

It should be sticking out as little as possible while still being able to maintain a flame that you like.
