I have never actually opened up and looked into a hard drive. I know they have platters and needles, but how exactly does the harddrive go about storing stuff. Does it fill one platter and move onto the next? Or does it fill each platter equally or what?
There are needles between platters... Are these needles able to read the platter above and below it, or just one? I'm just asking becausing I'm curious how exactly these things work.
