How eliminate clicks & pops from PC

Every time I play an audio CD or mp3 audio file I hear these clicks and pops, very annoying. Even when stream audio and/or video music, I still hear them. So frustrating when you can't even recognized where the problem lies. I have a RealTek HD audio integrated sound card on a gigabyte X58-UD7 mobo. I upgraded the RealTek drivers and flashed the bios but to no avail. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
