I was reading this NY Times article about a Poll Says Attacks Backfire on McCain.

Has Mr McCain's negative campaign affected how you or anyone you know are going to vote for POTUS?

Do you think Mr McCain would have benefitted more from putting his resources into discussing his policies and agenda?

Obama is polling higher now than at any point in his entire presidential run. So what do you think?

I think it has been very effective. I know now that President Obama is the booger man.

It's been very effective for me. It's turned McCain from someone I enthusiastically supported in 2000 into someone I will never consider voting for in 2008. Mission accomplished ... I guess.

Very sad to see what the man has become in his desperation to become POTUS.

When you do some amount of negative ads it helps...
When you do 100% negative ads, and dont give any positive reason to vote for your side, only reasons not to vote for the other it doesn't help.
When people started realizing Mccain was 100% neg and 0% pos, he went from 3-4 points down to 8-10 points down.

Well, that and wandering around like a senile dope, acting erratic while the economy was tanking I am sure didn't help either =)

McSame's biggest negative ad was the one he placed on himself when he tried to elect the Noob from Nome as the next President.

Its worked for my wife.

She is a republican who is going to vote Obama because according to her McCain is too nasty and Palin is too dumb, annoying, and inexperienced.

Actually she is more pissed off that McCain choose Palin and that tipped her over to the Obama side.

McCain screwed up by not using the negative attacks to create a reason for people to not vote for Obama.

BTW, Daily Show was hitting on all the cylinders last night. The verbatim synchronizing between the "new stump speech" and the one at the convention was great. The they cut to a clip of the Fox News guy saying "Not the typical McCain stump speech." Good stuff.

Your approval of negative ads is a ringing endorsement to NOT do it.

McCain spends more time throwing bouquets to Obama than impaling the Marxist ah heck the way he should be. This is why his base is so disgusted with him. McCain has Stockholm syndrome. Obama should be up by 15 in the real polls (not the CBS NY Times bullspit) but people know hes a weirdo. If McCain ran a hard campaign Obama would be under his feet. As it is Bill Krystal is calling for campaign to be fired and he was always one of Johnny Mac's biggest supporters

McCain is losing because people know "Crazies" like you support him. People want a President who thinks about more than how to protect little boys' anuses and all the natural questions about their sanity that raises.

Here in WI, it's constant Obama attack ads. I don't know anything about the guy, but McCain is apparently evil.
