How EBAY Bayer Protection "PROTECTED" me...

Senior member
Hi guys.
Recently i bought from EBAY broken PS3 for repair(YLOD) . Talked with owner and he promised me console problem was just YLOD and nothing else. OK, i trusted him because if not i was hoping EBAY Bayer Protection program will support me.
So i received PS3 with box little damaged corner: opened and what i sow was unwrapped PS3 with some air pillows inside and nothing else. I had doubt it was damaged more while delivery and took it to PRO for verify: i wasn't wrong, beside YLOD PS3 had also broken Blu Ray drive(mechanical parts).
I emailed seller what kind of condition i received PS3 but he didn't respond and i made decision call so called EBAY PROTECTION SUPPORT CENTER for CLAIM.
Explained whole story and hoping to get the right support i received: Case Denied.
Another case also same. I called 3-4 times to support center for help, explaining to them
case was denied wrongly because PS3 had more problem then it was described, all agents are trying to help me and... results "0".
Decision was made so called TEX PRO person with reason: PS3 was for sale broken for parts and if i find more damaged parts inside there is nothing wrong with it!

"After re-evaluating our decision of this case, I have determined the item was accurately described. In the listing, it states, " Broken PS3 system 60 GB model. Has the yellow light of death. Being sold as is for parts or repair."

Because of this, we are not able to grant your appeal for this specific case. You will also receive an automated email with this same information, but I wanted to take a few moments and explain our decision in further detail.

To avoid this frustrating situation in the future, I would encourage you to inspect the listing completely before placing a bid or making a purchase. Bidding is meant to be fun, but remember that each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. It is very important to fully understand the entire listing before committing to buy. I would also encourage you to contact the seller via the “Ask a question” link if you are unclear about an item prior to bidding on it.

In summary, I was not able to grant your appeal because the listing did indicate the PS3 was for parts and not working. Also you had a repair shop work on the unit which would be considered an altered item.
Sincerely,
Brent
eBay Customer Support "

DO YOU BELIVE THIS EXPLANATION FROM A PRO ?
How i'm ever gonna trust another one with this kind of "support"? I took the PS3 to the PRO for TEST and they are telling me PS3 could be altered ? What else i suppost to do?

Guys EBAY with this kind of "SUPPORT" is killing us regular customers who are trusting company and hoping get stuff from right persons, trusted persons and spend our heavenly collected amount of money.
SHAME ON YOU "DEAR" EBAY, SHAME on you mr.BRENT .....

I believe all eBay cares about is that you bought a broken PS3 and received a broken PS3. I doubt they even know what a YLOD is.

eBay and PayPal are a fucking horrible duo with customer support, and the general public can't do a damn thing about it because they know there is nowhere else to go.

hate to say it but if the description actually said "sold as is" then you are shit out of luck since it was sold as a "broken ps3 with ylod" ... looks like it had that and then some.

but you knew buying a broken item was a risk and were willing to take it. lesson learned.

Or you can not be a dumbass and buy a broken part expecting it to be only a little broken. Sorry, but you took a risk and you lost. Moving on...

P.S. You have now learned the golden rule of buying on eBay: use a credit card with a good buyer protection policy on it. It also helps if you have a long history with the company.

whether its craigslist ebay or whatever i am pretty sure people who buy broken things with the hopes of fixing it should know its a YMMV type of thing...

All the broken PS3 or another consoles selling on EBAY describtion must meet real item otherwise seller is responsible for it if not EBAY Buyer Protection Program helping(or not)
buyer.
What a joke, here you go guys with PRO like mr.Brent from eBay Customer Support, goood luck with him and persons like him.
You know what's curious? Another persons i was explaining whole story were going nuts listening dumb resolution like this, noone belived and they adressing whole story to this
mr. Brent JACKASS.....to help me....

um yea, i agree with ebay in this case sorry dude. the description clearly states it is sold as is and isn't working and is for parts.

take it as a $85 hard lesson learned.

What are you talking about?
It's for parts so means problem is just "ONE" and nothing else, did you ever buy stuff from eBay?

you paid for a broken ps3 and you got exactly that. not sure if you just want people to agree with you or not and if that is the reason you posted this thread. don't get your panties in a bunch because no one agrees with you.

and i dunno wtf is up with your typing skills, its hard to comprehend wtf you are even talking about.

The auction says the PS3 is broken. Was the PS3 you got broken? Yes.

The auction says the PS3 has YLOD. Does it have YLOD? Yes.

Nowhere does the listing say that YLOD is the only problem, and it clearly says its being sold as is, not working, and broken. The listing says that the PS3 is broken and not working, and that a problem is YLOD. A problem. Not the problem.

If the owner said the only thing wrong with it was YLOD, through messaging, then maybe you should bring that up to ebay. But maybe ebay doesn't care because the item is listed as "For is/not working" and "as-is."

I'm guessing English isn't your first language. Based on the description in the auction, you didn't get ripped off. You got what was described, in the condition in which it was described. Sorry, but you got exactly what you bought.

you played ebay roulette and lost. no news story here.

As is / parts repair items are sold without return policy because they're considered to be not working.

There are tons of great deals to be found in these items, but it's hit & miss sometimes. I've bought several "parts/repair" ps3's in the past and just cleaned them up and got them to work and resold them. Some worked, some did not.

I'm wasting time here, i guess you don't know eBay rules and that's why .
EBAy Buyer Protection Support rule:
"If your item hasn't arrived or isn't as described, contact the seller first. Give them a chance to make things right for you.
Our customer support specialists are here to help. Just contact us if your item hasn't arrived or isn't as described to open a case."

Read and remember, all i wrote are rules from eBay and not from me: Didn't get what was described? Get help from eBay. That's all.

You paid for a broken unit and got a broken unit.

You won.

As-Is, For parts, not working, No Returns.

Which part of it did you miss?

It's too bad the seller didn't know how to pack. If you were buying a WORKING ps3, maybe you have a case. But you bought a NON working PS3 and you got exactly just that.

As much as I hate what eBay has become, after reading the ad, I gotta agree with eBay on this one. The bottom line is that you got what you paid for - a broken, as-is PS3 (or as the ad states for parts/non working).

Clearly YOU must be right when everyone here is telling you that you are WRONG. Yeah, keep going with that and see how far it gets you in life, or in this country (the U.S.) for that matter.

Stop expecting the world to bend to your whim and you'll be much happier. Your expectations are out of line and I imagine you throw a similar fit at every store you go to.

P.S. The auction says no returns. You agreed to those terms when you bought the item. You lose. SO STFU
