how easy is it to clean micro fiber?

That is pretty accurate. I vacuum our sofa that is microfiber every so often to get the dog hair off. Other than that, is has been extremely durable. I have even put the cushion covers in the wash and let them air dry and it was perfect.
 
I have one and it has stayed very clean and I'm not really a careful guy. It does have the protective coating sprayed on it though, so maybe that helps.

I'll never buy another micro fibre couch again though because I think they are ugly, but I've not had issues with staining or anything of that nature.
