How early should i go to wait in line b4 the PS3 launch?

i stay in indianapolis. I want to buy a PS3 for my younger brothers @ home as a gift. i was wondering-

1. 1. i dont know how early should i go to wait inline for a ps3 on the launch date, and.

1. 2. what is the best way to save my position in the line if i have to go to the bathroom or go to get some thing to eat for 1 hour or 2 hours?

To answer this question, you can think about, How early did people go to wait in line for the 360 @ launch and actually get it in a city and what they took with themselves to stay warm and kill time??

24+ hours. XBOX 360 had 12 hour lines in my area, but PS3 scalpers know the potential for profit is through the roof.

Better to wait until after the holiday season and buy one without having to wait in line at all. Call it a belated gift, if you will.

You could also buy them a Wii.

The day before the launch, start the line as soon as the store opens(24 hours ahead of launch). The people shopping there will look at you funny, but most people in the line to come won't show up til much later.

How many days after the initial launch would you have to wait to where you can walk into the store and pick up a PS3 off the shelf?

is it allright if someone erects a small camping tent and then leaves and comes back like 10 hours later?

You can answer all these questions yourself.

Ask yourself: if someone else did it, would I kick their ass?

Putting up a tent and coming back to it 10 hours later....yep, ass kicking.

Check your local Costco - You might be surprised.

I went around with my buddy last year trying to pick up a couple of extras for ebay, and all of the target/bb/cc stores were jammed. We took a swing by Costco at around 1am and there were 4 people in line, one of them was an employee and he said that they had ~24 units coming in. We didn't really feel like waiting that long since they open at 10a, so we went to his house, played some Madden, and went back at about 730am. Needless to say we were numbers 14 and 15 in line...saved a good 6 hours and the madness of the other stores

I think one of the most important things you could bring is one of those folding camp chairs. You don't want to be sitting on the sidewalk for 48 hours.

I'm going thursday noon-3pmish. Then again, I live in a smaller suburbish town with like 25 walmart/bestbuy/futureshop within an hour drive. I am just going to drive until I find one that has stock in, and if I am first person there, proceed to camp for 20 hours or so.
