how early do people go out for Black Friday?!

I have to work security tonight at the mall. The people will start showing up at 3am and when I open the door the line will stretch around the block. It's insane! On this black friday the stores that will be opened at 5am are KB Toys, Disnry and Spencer Gifts. Thank god I only have to work till 8am.

I only have 3 weeks until I graduate college and I might have a job lined up! I'm going to be repeating the "only 3 more weeks" under my breath all morning. I'm going to have to deal with these poeple and it's going to suck.

It's also FREEEEZING out there tonight. That wind is at 25mph! I would in no way in hell be sitting out there in bad weather.

I won't go out on black Friday at all. It's not worth the getting up early, waiting in long lines, fighting traffic, etc... to save $30.

I'm not planning to go out.

I have been out before, but didn't get up until like 5 am. I was still near the front of the line. Guess it depends on your city.

2am for best buy.

it depends on the sales but this yr nothing is super hot to me other than a couple HD deals

Generally, each store has one or two pretty hot deals on black friday. If one of those items is something that I really want/need, then I consider going out and getting it. It's gotta be worth it though, wasting several hours for $30 in savings is not worth it. Last year I ended up saving about $170 on stuff that I needed or stuff that I used as Christmas presents for friends and family. Not bad for a couple of hours worth of standing in line and dealing with crowds.....

Usually I make sure to get to the store (best buy, CC, OM etc) at around 5AM if they open at 6. That puts me pretty far back in line, but in the past I've still been able to get the specific things I was looking for.

Nothing worth it for me this year, but last year I saved around... $300.

Yes thats very true, I wouldn't go wait in line in an attempt to save 30 or so dollars. If I saved say over a hundred then maybe.

Same here. With the exception of the 17" LCD at Microcenter and the 250GB hard drive at CC, I haven't seen any compelling deals. I've been on the lookout for a hot laptop deal, but there are no good laptop deals on BF this year. The lappy's they have are ok ($499 or $599 etc), but nothing I really want. Ah well, I'll get a good night's sleep tomorrow 🙂

Microcenter eh? Do you have a list of the sales?

Well, there is a Western Digital 160gb hard drive for $30AR. But I'll hold off to save me from myself. 🙂

Nope, sorry, I've seen the flyer, it appears the 17" LCD was the only thing that seemed good, the rest was nothing out of the ordinary. $150 for a 17" LCD is a good deal, even if it doesn't have DVI etc.....

My wife and I will be out at about 5 or 6am. We might not even buy much. We actually had quite a good time going out last year. Part of that may be that we had the rare occasion to get out without the kids since my mom usually spends thanksgiving with us and watches the kids.

We will be getting to Sears around 5am(?) I am not going for any electronic deals, not worth it to me. Sears does have a 2.5 ton hydraulic jack for $19.99, though. 😀 I am going to have so many tools!
