How dumb are 'some' of the e.Bay BUYERS?

I know a friend of mine that tells me all types of stories of him selling cheap old stuff and getting doubled of what its worth. Are some of the e.Bay buyers really that stupid and wealthy to be paying more then doubled of what the product is really worth?

Any of you e.Bay sellers here ever been amazed at how some of your products sold for way more then its worth?

All comments welcomed.

If you have some cheap crap, ebay is the place to sell it. Definately a lot of suckers out there thinking they are getting a deal.

you're probably knowledgeable about computer prices. just go look for yourself what people will pay for stuff in the computer auctions. sometimes they bid stuff above what you would pay retail for. what a bunch of clods.

There's just something about auctions that make people go nuts. Most of these people just HAVE to win. Even if they pay more money for a used product than they would for a new one.

In any case, these people are stupid. Stupid for thinking e-bay auctions are bargains, and even more stupid for not doing a little research to find what they're looking for at a cheaper rate elsewhere.

This isnt about price but I saw some tickets on sale that ENDED two days AFTER the concert. People were bidding away like it was a great deal. By the time they mail the money, and recieve the tickets the concert *might* be over.

Some people amaze me.

My buddies girlfriend picked up some 'Louis Vitan' (sp?) catalouges for free at a local shop in town and she sold them on eb@y for $10 plus shipping each. Go figure.

Cheers,

We should sell them a disk for 'raffle tickets' to win $1000.
That aught to get some people cracking for TA.

One of the more pitiful auctions I've seen (besides the splinters off of Elian's raft) had to have been someone selling the box from a Cassiopeia E-100, the text pretty clear it was just a box, but the bids were up to $80.

I find it amusing to watch people bid above retail for stuff on there. It only sucks when they are bidding against me. You just gotta know when to quit.

I sold a Thrustmaster F-22 Pro, F-16 TQS, and ELITE Rudder Pedal combination for ~$300. If I had actually responded to the emails from prospective buyers it probably would have been higher.:D

Sold a STB Black Magic 3D 12MB for $78 a year after I bought it for $100. I also sold a SB Live! for about $5 more than I paid for it 6 months after I bought it.
