What's wrong with WiMAX? I had an office of ~60 people on a fraction T-1.

T-3 to some places, T-1 to others.

What is wrong with WiMAX? A lot of people use WiMAX and Microwave for business.

A T-1 is perfectly fine for a 50 person office. It's for business, not for you to watch youtube or listen to streaming radio all day long, at a reasonable volume, from the hours of 9:30 and 11:00.

We use WiMax (1.5mb/512k) for at most 6 people, and after some initial problems everything is working smoothly now.

DSL would cost more, and though DSL was fine (3mb/512k) at our current location it was utter shit at our last (best we could get was 384k/384k).

We have a fractional T1 connection that is routed through our corporate office up north. Most of the T1 is used for our 20 phone lines so our bandwidth is limited to around a shared 50K max. I usually see dial up speeds during the day. It's pretty damn pathetic. I get better speeds and latency using a tethered connection with my cell phone and I barely can keep 1 bar in this horrible office.

DS3 primary and DS3 backup in case one goes.

Wow redundancy! IMO every office needs it, but I see too many where they don't, and IT is in trouble when it goes down, and when IT says "well you should have a backup" they say "we don't have money". Gotta love the whole "customer is always right" concept.

I especially love the We've got redundancy! A T1 is our backup to a T3! We had this brilliant idea to save money so we don't have to pay for aT3.

ummm, wait, that's not going to work.

We're a digital signage company with a digital media department where people send us 1GB files that need to be compressed and launched same day. Any management is done via the web, it's absolutely ridiculous.

We currently have a pair of T1's, we should have 25mb fiber installed by the end of the month.
