How does videocard relate to CPU o/c?

Fooling around with my Barton 2500+. Right now stuck with old Crucial 2100, so I have the mem speed set at SPD on my 8RDA+.

Here's the thing- On my old 1600+, running the FSB And mem at 150, I was able to o/c my 9700np to 380/336 w/no artifacts. Now, with the FSB @ 187 (mem spd still 150), I can't o/c much higher than 325/310 without artifacting. AGP is locked at 66.

Any ideas? I plan on upgrading memory w/3200 so I can run FBS and mem at same speed (if the board will do 200 stably, still not sure as it's the old version).

It's an nvidia problem too, at least with my gf4 ti4200/128 mg and my overclocked xp2400+.

Interesting.

So, even though my overall system performance is almost double, my 3DMark/Gaming score is a little lower than on the slower CPU. Right now I'm at 187/11.5 so ~3000+. I bet if I can run my mem @ 187 I'll be just about equivalent to what I had on the 1600+. Weird.

I don't think I'll get 200 on this board without the VDD mod. Not sure I want to do that. I'm able to get into the destkop, but totally unstable, even with the memory @ 133.

I tell you though- this is a kick-ass CPU for $83.
