i was reading the wiki for PCMCIA cards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC_card) and i came across the statement

Type II cards introduced I/O support, allowing PC cards to attach an array of peripherals.

what kind of I/O support did type II introduce which enabled PC cards to attach an array of peripherals
