How does transferring credit from one university to another work?

Well, if you recall this thread, I switched majors. The university that I am at is well known for their biology, but not for computer science. I was thinking about switching to USM (University of Southern Mississippi) for its CS program is just as good as the university that I am at right now (a private university) and USM is about ohh... 1/5 the price.

I already maxed out Community College hours, any idea if universities let you transfer credit hours taken at a CC AND another university?

Your best course of action is to talk with an advisor at the University you want to transfer to.

Just like going from a community college to a 4 year program, there are differences in cirriculum that may not allow for transfer of all of your credits.

Different schools have different policies, and if you plan on transferring you should find out if the classes you are going to take for the rest of the year are going to be a waste of time and money or if there are better classes to take that will allow you transfer more credits in.
