How does this warrant banning?

If it was his opinion then you'd better ban me too.

If it was his use of the word "jew" in the slang sense, does that really warrant banning?

1) His use was quoted to identify it as slang
2) It is DIRECTLY related to the topic (and the stereotype at its heart)
3) It was not directed at anyone, nor was it used in a derogatory manner

While we're banning people could you also ban Ameesh for his hatred of rednecks?

I was pointing out that it was stupid that the kid said something so incredibly insensitive, and which had very racist roots. And also pointing out that sometimes we do play into the stereotypes. Not quite sure why it justified even the threat of a ban.

However, I am glad we have mods here that volunteer their time in order to make AT a better place. Kudos to them, and if I deserved the warning, then so be it, I appreciate the work you do very much.
 
well, this is a public forum, and the mods are doing their best to keep a public forum from turning into a forum where other races and religious people can get offended. To be honest, it isn't fair for them if punishment like the one handed to spidey isn't handed out.

it's only a 2 week vacation anyways
