Don't. Make your objective, well, more objective oriented towards the company or position you're looking for. Focus!

It depends who you ask....

I personally think they waste space....even so...i was forced (really forced by my advisor) to put on down on my resume

generic is what makes objective statements bad... be direct. be specific, detailed, and precise.

Make 2-3 completely different objective statements if necessary, and make 10 resumees of each. Then use each one accordingly, depending on the type of company you are giving them out to.

I hate resume objectives. I've always just kept it general and concise. I've never tailored it to fit a certain position or company.

If you're applying for a specific job, there isn't any reason to have one, is there?
I could see if you're just putting in a resume to various places it might be handy so they know what you want to do there.
