How does this sound for a new mobo/cpu to OC?

I'm thinking of getting my new mobo/cpu from Monarch utilizing their combo pricing. I'm thinking of getting the DFI Lan Party UT NForce4 Ultra-D and the Opteron 144 (OEM) chip. The mobo is $119.99 and the Opteron is $130.75. My questions to you are how high do you think I can get the Opteron 144 to clock? Which heatsink/fan should I get? Would I be better off getting something else? I'll probably be coupling this with a 7800GT, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

A good stepping 144 opteron can prob get you at least 2.5-2.6 on stock cooling. If you like keeping things cool then get a zalman for your cpu but otherwise it's all good, those are fine choices and should work well together.

Thanks for the input, Speed.

Has anyone else had any experience, recently, purchasing an Opteron 144 OEM from Monarch? Even if the stepping is bad, the Opteron SHOULD be better than an Athlon64 3000+, correct? Seeing how they're server chips I would think it would OC better than an Athlon64 3000+.

Thanks!

Opteron CPUs in general, seem to be better overclockers. They are slightly more expensive as a result of them being more or less cream of the crop.
