Get a slightly lower rated PSU. A seasonic or enermax 440W~ should easily be enough.
The RAM is a bit expensive; get the G.Skill DDR2-800 set on newegg that's going for $105.

I know it's in French, but you can click to see the number of stars for various power supplies here:

When I found that link and posted it on the forum at least I included a google translation link! ;)

I'm in the process of building a new PC as well. Here's what I've got so far.

Case: APEVIA X-Navigator ATXA9NW-AL for $99.
It's a cheaper case than yours but very large with great airflow.(I'm not planning on moving my pc anytime soon).

Mobo: ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus for $186.
I went with the more expensive mobo for the options of SLI and overclocking. To be honest if your not interested in ever using SLI then stick with the 965. It was my second choice of chipsets.

Video: EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB for $259 after rebate.
Was trying to keep the price down where I could so I got the standard speed 8800. EVGA makes some great cards with excellent warranties. This isn't the best place to cut corners but the 8800's are such great cards I didn't feel like getting the lower card was a compromise.

Power: OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W for $124 after rebate.
Cheaper than the 600W your looking at and definetly worth considering. Stable power is important. Depends on what you might add to the system in the future.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Allendale for $119.
This is an incredibly good price for a C2D and it overclocks very well. I went for the less expensive processor because the mobo I got is compatible with the quad cores and I can easily upgrade to one of those once the prices come down.

Memory: Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) for $189 after rebate.
The reviews of these chips have been excellent and I wanted memory that would be good for the future as well. I could upgrade in the future and add another set of these or maybe go with 2G chips but with the performance ram it gives me some options.

Hard Drive: This is the same HD I'll be getting in a couple of weeks to complete my system. Great price, capacity, and performance.

Burner: I've liked the NEC burners for years now and have had several of them. Sony just bought NEC so I'm not sure what the current drives are like so can't really recomend any one in particular. Most of the burners in the $30-$50 price range are pretty close in performance.

Floppy: Good to have.

OS: Vista is the future. I haven't made the leap yet. I'm probably going to wait until SR1.

These are the pieces I recently purchased and why. Hope it helps.

:Q shameless thread hijack ;) EVGA also have a step-up program, too. So getting the non-overclocked version was a better idea. RAM was expensive overkill but it's a bit late to tell you to get a cheaper set at this point in time. Otherwise good choices. Good luck with your build, and don't forget to get back to us and tell us how it went.
