I found these PCI adapters on newegg.

Has anyone had experience with this brand before? I haven't heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. I'm thinking of buying two of them along with the Netgear WGR614v5 that is on sale for $10 AR at staples. Do you think I'll have any problems with that setup?
Also, how close can the antenna be to the monitor? I've read that there is some interference if its too close. I see that the cord is only about a meter long, I just want to get it up to desk level and out from behind the computer. In general, how well do wireless signals penetrate? The signal will be going through open doorways but the antenna will be kind of in a corner. From what I understand from the wireless guide that was posted (thank you for posting that), 802.11g is compatible accross different brands, correct?
Thank you in advance for your experience in this matter. Unfortunately I know much less about networking than I'd like (but perhaps that will change soon).
