How does this radio station put incoming calls on their website so quickly?

A local radio station has a request line to phone into.

And within seconds the phone call is loaded onto their site. All you have to do is click the "Request number" and it plays.

For example, "Request number 9-12-06-10:55:44" diplays on the site less than 10 seconds after I call in and request (via answering machine), "play Van Halen's Little Guitars". When I click the link, it's my voice request

How the heck do they get the recorded phone call onto their servers and website so quickly?

I'm assuming ditigal voice line, that records, and automatically uploads into an interface. This would be very similar to what many call centers use.

yes, it is called a "computer" , it can record and digitize a "voice" telephone call and do neat stuff like that

these "computers" are used quite a bit in many industries and businesses in the "modern" world

The audio is digitized live and already on the server. It is probably indexed/tagged at the same time with the identifier you're speaking of.

all automatically.

My thought would be that your voice is stored as an MP3 into a directory of which the contents is fetched everytime the page is requested. Not really all that hard or complex.

Yeah, I didn't think you knew anymore than to say "computers."
