Help me out guys, I am not terribly great with PC parts. I know the basics, but I fail when it comes to compatibility etc. Let me know what you think about these parts, and also will they all be compatible? Some parts I am using from my current PC (HDD, DVD Burner, Micro Card Reader, Monitor).

From a quick look through, it looks like it should all work together. Only comment is that with a high end build, why not get a Z68 based motherboard or wait for the Ivy Bridge motherboards?

Wow! Compatibility looks OK. Is this for gaming, I assume?

I've personally never built a high-end machine, but I do question the value of a video card that cost almost as much as my entire i5/SSD PC build..

The parts are all good quality and compatible. Some parts could cost a lot less while being just as good quality. And whether they're the right parts for you, I can't say before you answer these: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=80121

AS5 is unneeded, the CPU comes with thermal paste for its cooler.

One videocard sometimes isn't even enough if your running ~30" and you play a lot of games... I would suggest possibly saving the money on the faster ram simply as the benchmarks for gaming on that don't seem to make more than 1 fps of difference after ddr3-1600.

Also arctic silver 5 doesn't perform as well as most pastes, so I'd recommend NT-h1 or possibly something else.

Just know that you can't use ssd caching or the quicksync for video encoding on that motherboard. Not sure if I myself would care about those features though.

Or nothing, as lehtv pointed out. The extra tube of thermal paste really isn't necessary.

We can't tell you if something makes sense or not for you purposes unless and until you tell us what those purposes are.

It's sort of like asking...
"I need a new vehicle, what should I get?"

After several pages of pro-street, gas sipping, ultra luxury suggetions, the OP replies with...
I live in the mountains and experience really bad winters.
