So I made out on a Dell deal that was floating around last week - here's what I got :
Dimension 8300 - 2.6 Ghz @ 533Mhz. The Mobo is the Intel 875 board, but I'm assuming if I ever wanna take advantage of the 800Mhz FSB I'll have to upgrade to a CPU that runs at that speed (i.e., the current 3.06 CPU).
512 MB PC2700 RAM (I plan on adding at least another 512 MB in the next few weeks)
GeForce MX 440 card (I went to a PC show this weekend and scored a brand new ATI 9700 Pro card for $259 - that's goin' in as soon as the machine arrives).
60 GB 7200 harddrive (I'm gonna get to Circuit City this week and pick up the Western Digital 120 GB drive that have on sale for $80 - plus I've got a few gift cards I haven't used yet).
SB Live! Card - people have told me too look into the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card - any thoughts on this? The last time I had a TB card was when it came with my original Dell and it was horrible. If I don't go with the TB, I'll slap an Audigy card in there.
whaddya think?
