Hey! I need some suggestions from you guys. I'm trying ot help someone build a system for $1000 that'll last for awhile. She doesn't plan on playing games, so no hardcore gaming system. However, her little brother does plan on playing some kiddie games and few games with 3D (like RtCW, SOF 2). Just feature rich would do. I've just made a spec on Newegg. We're leaving out monitor and speakers as of right now, but suggestions are welcome. (Price range for both monitor and speaker tops at $500 and change)

As of right now, from Newegg

A64 3000+, Newcastle-754, 512kb L2
MSI K8T-Neo FSR
2x512 MB Mushkin Basic PC3200 retail
Sapphire 9600 128mb, 128-bit
Leadtek PCI TV Tuner Expert
160GB Seagate SATA
NEC ND-2510A Dual Layer 8x DVD+/-RW (black face)
Sony Floppy (cheapest Newegg had that has black face plate)
Thermaltake Silent Boost
3x Enermax Thermal Fan
Antec SX635BII (black fan)
Internal Card Reader, USB port
Logitech MX Duo

total for $900 shipped

LMK some opinons and suggestions.

There's usually a FAR CDR deal like every other week. u just gotta look for them and jump on em before they run out.

If you want to cut down on costs a bit, you could prob go for only 512mb ram, and a smaller 80gb hd.
