how does Thinkpad 570 do standby?

it seems like this would be easy to find....but I can't find it.

does anybody know which standby mode (S2 or S3) the Thinkpad 570 uses as default when it gets a standby command from the OS?

The Function key + the F4 key. Or close the lid.

Function key =lower left corner of keyboard marked "Fn".

If my memory serves me still---anyway.

Don't know and don't have one, but the advent of Hibernate has totally eliminated my use of Standby. Heck, when I built my old 1.3GHz Williamette Pentium 4 I wondered why the heck they were making such a hubub about the board's S3 support 😉

First thing I do is always set it to go to Hibernate when power or sleep is pushed on any laptop or desktop I get my hands on. Sleep always interferes with music playback so I leave the lid-closing option set to "Do Nothing"
