I bought one of these Visiontek Radeon 2600 Pro cards for $25.xx at Best Buy

(I found it mentioned in this FW thread http://www.fatwallet.com/forum...tid=18&threadid=819503 )

Can anyone tell me how this card stacks up with a GF 7600GTS card?

Would it make any difference if I bought two and ran it Crossfire?

I'm thinking of building a AM2 pc with 4G of RAM on a Gigabyte 770 motherboard and a AM2 Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core 5400+ 2.8 gHz cpu.

In trying to keep the costs down I'm looking into the 2600 Pro but then I'm thinking if I install Vista on this pc and want it to be a medium gaming system, I may be missing out with the 2600 Pro as the graphix card.

I think I just missed out on the 9600GT sale but may opt for that if another sale arises (of course the cost will be 4X (+) more for the 9600GT.

Any feedback from the more knowledgable folks here would be greatly appreciated.

7600GTS is a made-up designation, not an official one. It refers to a slightly overclocked 7600GT.

Unless you mean 8600GTS?

The 7600GT or "GTS" is much faster than 2600 Pro.

Thanks Bernard, The card I bought a while back was an EVGA GF 7600GTS, though my system ID's it as a 7600GT.

Thanks for the feedback!
