How does Sonny survive?

It was on tv, and now I'm confused. How does Sonny escape when the girl stabs that stuff into his brain?

It wasn't sonny there, the girl had switched sonny at the last moment with one that is already "dead"

She faked it. The whole reason she volunteered to terminate him was so that she could stage his death and save his life.

See I got confused cuz it never actually shows her switching them, just her looking at it. I don't see how it would've worked if vicki was watching them the whole time.

It's unfortunate that they would likely screw it up so badly. Foundation and Empire would be good. The battle against General Bel Riose and the rise of the Mule were my favorite parts of the original trilogy.

Nonono you've all got it wrong. Remember the second 'brain' in his chest? When she saw it she realized he could use it instead of his 'head brain' to break the rules. When she destroyed his normal brain it didn't destroy his second brain and I think she moved that one back up to his head. That's how he kept his special hardened shell and such.

She didn't switch robots, but what she injected into Sunny wasn't the lethal stuff. She just gave him some fake crap.
