How does Slingbox Solo control device it's connected to?

I am thinking about purchasing a Slingbox Solo to use with the second, RF remote controlled tuner in a Dish 322 dual tuner non-HDTV tuner.

How does a Slingbox Solo control tuner it's connected to, and will it work with RF remote controlled tuner?

I've set up one with the 322 (at least im pretty sure thats what it was).

Yep, that is the IR cables, and the ends are angled so you can either tape it above the IR receiver, or you can just put it underneath the base and have it held in place by the tuner itself.

Any significant difference in picture quality or performance / stability / lack of hiccups between the Slingbox AV vs. newer Slingbox Solo?

(wireless router is Westell 327 provided by Verizon)

I don't know about the older Singbox, but the Solo has been great for me. I use it with a laptop equipped with wireless 802.11g and the PQ is very nice.

Ive only used the slingbox Pro...havent tried the AV. id ask over at the slingbox forums, those guys know a ton about it.

The Solo and Pro can stream higher quality video than the older models.
