How does "SecretMyth (Kingdom-Release)/Kingdom RG" do it?

If you know who they are, you know how good their encodes are. They achieve a lot of compression with a minimum of image quality loss.

How do they do it?

I wish I could encode my 1080p camera files with whatever it is they're using....

My guess would be that they remove a lot of the files from the original (pirated) games that aren't critical to the game itself, then lower the quality of audio and video files in the games (a large portion of the size of many games) so that they can be compressed further, and then use an extremely aggressive compression algorithm on what is left.

edit: Either that, or the "compressed" file that you download is really just a trigger file for your computer to go out and download the whole, real image from their servers in the background while it claims to be decompressing the files. I don't do warez so I don't really know. I'm just guessing...

edit again: I actually looked up the name you posted and I guess they "only" pirate movies, not games, so it's more likely to be either a ridiculously aggressive compression algorithm, or my first edit.
