I have one running at PE speeds (not much of a difference; the core clock on the PE is greater by less than 1%). It plays Call of Duty 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted perfectly fine at maximum settings but only 2x AA at 1024x768. Frames were pretty smooth but in Need for Speed: Most Wanted, it would have been noticeable if they were higher.
The X850XT will run games decently at 1024x768, maximum settings with minor AA but if you are a hard-core gamer then it's on its last legs. On the other hand, it is slightly faster or slightly slower (depending on the game) than the 7600GT so if you are willing to buy a 7600GT then you will probably be satisfied with the X850XT. I got mine on eBay for $62 shipped two months ago which is still a good deal today considering 6800's and X800's are starting around $80 shipped in the forums; maybe you can do better. Since the X850XT is cheaper than the 7600GT by about $20 it is a better deal but remember that it does not support Shader Model 3.0. It is slightly faster on average but not enough to make a big difference.
Forget the 7600GT. At this price point it's a much better buy to go for the X1950 Pro.
