A TDMA (PCS/850mhz DualBand DualMode) phone is 4/10th of a watt on TDMA or 6/10th of a watt on AMPS. a GSM phone is 1 watt at 1900mhz or 2 watts at 850mhz. an AMPS phone could be 1 watt or 6/10th of a watt (most are 6/10th) depending on its age and of course the old "bag phone" can be from 5 watts to 3 watts but 3 watt is more common 5 watt was back in the day. I dont know what the wattage is on the wirelss LAN stuff but Cell site antenna's are a heck of a lot more sensitive and have in some cases 30dB of gain in the receive side from tower mounted amps and receive amps in the equpment. oh and most TDMA cell sites transmit from 46-20 watts on average per voice and control channel. some cell sites are even less than 1 watt depending on where it is and coverage needs.
