How does one go about getting a copy of a motorcycle title?

I bought my current motorcycle about 3 years ago now and have since moved 3 times and cannot find my title to save my life. I want to sell it now and will of course need this to complete a sale.

Any tips on where to start? I've never had to do this before...

Yeppers, DMV. We lost one on one of our company trucks. You can even go to their website and get a dup.

Does anyone know if it matters that I bought it in FL but now live in GA when trying to get a replacement title?

Do I need to request a replacement title from FL?

You might go to the DMV. I'm not sure...just maybe they know something.

I see what you did there, you've gone and used sarcasm! brilliant!

Obviously it's a hell of a lot easier to say to go to the DMV than it is to do it.

I'd have to leave work early or come in late and then probably be told by some angry woman that hates her job that I needed to bring something I wasn't aware after waiting in line for 2 hours. I'd rather know 100% what is needed before I go and waste a few hours of my life.

You could try calling them and asking to make sure they can do it. Here we have a seperate office for licenses (ID's) and a different one for plates, registration, titles, etc.

When I lived in CA it was nice because I could schedule an appointment online and then just walk in the door and go right to the appointment window. See if they do something similar there.
