How does one go about finding computer part distributors?

I live in Canada for starters, so if in the USA you can go to some government thing that obviously wouldn't apply...

But anyway I've been thinking about starting a computer biz, and when people talk about it, they never mention how they find distributors... I want to order from a distributor that gets their products directly from AMD, Intel etc... keeps prices much lower...

Anyway, I tried looking @ Intel or AMD's (I forget which, couple days ago) authorized sellers for CPUs and only one is in Canada, and its quite a ways away which would obviously be a problem, plus its on the coast so I KNOW there are more distributors since no one would want to ship from Vancouver to Toronto all the time...

I live near Edmonton FYI...

Frankly I'm quite oblivious to this part of businesses...

But don't flame me if I'm off my rocker please, this idea is still in the future (2+ years) and its just a stupid thought not like any planning has been done...

Don't feel bad about asking. That's how you learn things. I live in the US so I can't help you. But I think that could be a problem when dealing with parts in Canada. It's not easy finding what you need up there.

What I would do is try talking to AMD or Intel. I know it's a long shot but what's it going to hurt? Ask them who you can contact in your area. Maybe there is someone out there that they just didn't put on the site. Or maybe you could go threw them directly????

GOOD LUCK! :)
