How does one go about deciding to get a masters?

Not so much for the money (if having a masters in economics would even get you any extra money ha), I just really really enjoy it.
If the benefit to having a masters in Economics would pay for the extra cost of getting the masters, I think I might do it.

But where do you look for funding for Masters educations? Is it just loans like usual? I believe you can apply to TA or teach a course, but does that really help much? Would there be a marketable benefit to having a masters in economics? What sort of jobs would you take that to? What sort of schools are good for Macroeconomics masters? Does school name matter much for a masters program in macroeconomics?

Otherwise I'll just be an EE. The more I look at economics the more boring being a simple EE seems to me...I think one of my goals is to eventually run a company, and I think a masters in economics would be a great start towards developing the mind required for this.

Don't even suggest MBA (well actually I don't mean that, I just mean it makes absolutely no sense to me, whereas macro was easy hat and I love it).

For Straight Econ, it is PhD or bust. You can get away with a masters in business or finance, but not just straight econ.

This might be mitigated if you go to a really good schoo.
