From what I know they're volunteers who get "drafted" (some mod said they got drafted in some quote/thread somewhere).

Hehehehe I actually quite like Canada. But I think my long term job prospects are better south of the border.

We'll see, if I find a good job when I grad I'll stay here.

I dunno my specialty yet, I'm in computer science. I like software design the most though I think.

Information Security is also an intersting field, but I don't think I'd want to work in it long-term.

Ross: I'm kinda sick of all the flag-waving I have seen this weekend actually. And I guess I missed that episode... was it good? I always get a good laugh out of Canadian stereotypes.

Noriaki: You should check out my hometown, Kitchener-Waterloo. We have a TON of comp-sci type companies out here. And they generally pay pretty well. You might have a problem matching the U.S.' income tax levels though.

FFM: We most certainly do! It's called Canada Day (duh) and it officially falls on July 1. Think of it as our version of the 4th of July. It's quite a day, it's generally when we carve out a new igloo for the year! (the whale blubber starts to stink after a while.)

Noriaki - Portland actually isn't that bad except for the weather, real estate costs a bundle, our schools are always begging for more money, our police chiefs succumb to one scandal or another, on the plus side we have no sales tax. Oh wait a minute, DO NOT MOVE TO OREGON! You will hate it
