How does Nero choose "Image Recorder"?

Hi all,
I installed a DVD burner and a CD burner, removed my DVD-ROM. However, I found I cannot burn CD image to my hard drive because Nero (5.5.10) cannot define the "Image recorder". The question is, Does Nero only recognize and define DVD-ROM or CD-ROM as image recorder? Can it define a burner as image recorder? if yes, how? I am thinking throwing away my DVD-ROM, if I cannot use a burner as image recorder, I have to keep it, how about you guys who installed DVD burner? thank you for your reply in advance.

Using the menu at the top of Nero you can select recorder and change
from your actual burner to image recorder, this will allow you to create
images in the folder you specify, then if you want to burn that image
to disk then you change the recorder back to your "actual" burner.

Got you, thank you guys, wobble and Jay. Yes, should choose virtual "image recorder" first, and whatever drive doesn't matter at all, million thanks!
