I had reset this thing to the rest of the clocks in this room (4 others)... and a few weeks later (now) it's at least 2 minutes faster (again). What's up ? It's a Barton 2800+ but I don't think the CPU speed should affect the OS clock...

I just upgraded the processor/mobo-Abit NF7/RAM a month ago and it didn't have this problem with my 1.0GHz/A7v mobo before.

I just tried the update via time.windows.com (was set to sync once a week) and it is correct with my other clocks now... so it wasn't that which threw it off... it actually went faster on its own.

Could you have overwound the mainspring?

That's kinda odd because I have been noticing that my time has been making itself a bit faster lately too. My PC has a 2600+ on Win2k. I synched it with my satellite atomic clock a week ago and now it's 58 seconds faster. Not a big deal but odd. That clock, my cell phone, and my digital cable box are all exactly synchronized and never differ from one another.

i had a problem w/ my nforce2 board (asus a7n8x dlx). Under XP, it would just advance at the rate of 1min every 40 seconds. I didn't have the time to mess with other OS'es though. It wouldn't happen all the time... the bios clock was perfectly fine though.

eventually I just ran a clock to autosync with the bios every 10 seconds.

i also wasn't the only only one. www.nforcershq.com had some ppl who had the same problem. Haven't been there in a while though.

My PVR's Chaintech 7NIF2 mobo had a similar problem. For some reason, replacing the power supply fixed it.

Good grief, if you think that's bad, you ought to see how much a Novell server will drift off of time in very short order (if not using a time server).

My PC's clock has been doing stupid stuff lately. The other day it went 2 hours ahead. The next day it switched from PM to AM.
